At the Heritage Auctions’ Fine Jewelry Auction held in Dallas this month, diamond rings were the main attraction, News-Antique.com reports.
The top selling piece of jewelry was a platinum ring set with an emerald-cut diamond weighing over 18 carats, accented by 5 carats of smaller brilliant-cut diamonds. The ring estimated to be about $175,000 eventually fetched $388,375.
A platinum, gold and diamond ring set sold for $239,000- considerably higher than its pre-sale estimate of $150,000. Another ring crafted from gold and platinum set with a 10.62-carat yellow colored diamond with a color grade of Fancy Yellow and Internally Flawless clarity fetched $167,300.
The sale price of $149,375 for a ring set with an 8.73-carat round brilliant cut diamond went to benefit the city’s Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. In total, the Dallas Fine Jewelry Auction grasped a total of $4.2 million.
